The path
Sit the face-to-face evaluation. It will end with an education or treatment requirement — that is the rule, not a verdict on you.
The initial evaluation is face-to-face (49 CFR 40.293) — in person, or by a face-to-face video method the rules permit. The SAP reviews the violation, your history, and any records, then makes a recommendation.
Under 49 CFR 40.293 the SAP must recommend education and/or treatment. A SAP who waves a driver through with nothing is not doing you a favor — they are breaking the rule your return depends on, and any 'SAP' offering that outcome for cash is the scam pattern FMCSA warned about.
Not your employer, not a doctor, not a second SAP, not a court of public opinion in a Facebook group: 49 CFR 40.295 and 40.297 bar anyone from changing the SAP's recommendation, and there is no second-opinion route. The only way through is the program your SAP prescribed.

One payment of $49. No subscription. The kit is a web page you can return to and print — the full playbook for choosing a SAP, taking the test with no employer, managing the follow-up years, and getting hired again.
Photo ID, the paperwork about the violation, and honest answers. The SAP's recommendation is built on this interview; hiding use history usually makes the prescribed program longer, not shorter, when it surfaces later.
No — the evaluation must be face-to-face under 49 CFR 40.293, which includes permitted real-time video, not a voice-only call with someone who never sees you.
